The sun sets over a C-141, C-5, and the Thunderbirds

The feature act at the 1998 Lethbridge Airshow was the Thunderbirds. Most of my pictures were taken on Friday, August 7 outside the airport during the Thunderbirds practice.

Here are the rest of my thumbnails of the US military partcipation at Lethbridge '98:

C-2 Greyhound
Three C-2 Greyhounds arrived at Lethbridge throughout the day on Friday. One had an engine fire en route and had to shut it down prior to landing. The third photo below is a shot of this aircraft on landing approach. It is not immediately obvious because I was using 400-speed film, but the right engine on the aircraft with '50' on the nose can be seen to be shut down. The other two aircraft were on static display.

E-2 Hawkeye
The first photo below shows the E-2 Hawkeye arriving in formation with one of the Greyhounds. This E-2 is from VAW-120 'Cyclones' at Norfolk, VA.

EA-6B Prowler
This Prowler is from VAQ-129 'New Vikings' at NAS Whidbey Island.

C-5 Galaxy and HH-60 Pave Hawk
This C-5 came from Travis AFB, California. They provided a few flybys before and after the show. They also transported two HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters to the airshow.
